One of our lovely local Lake District jobs! Cliff initially approached us for a large timber decking on which to house his Sloping Wall Cabin, and after much deliberation decided to go with a proper stone wall & solid base for peace of mind. With the brief we set to work on the design of his retaining wall & paving to accomodate the cabin.

We decided on Lakeland Blue slate for the feature wall sourced locally, with some sandstone highlights & quoins to add some contrast. The colours really accent each other while being in keeping with the beautiful surroundings.

Cliff & Chris decided on Raveena paving outside the cabin to compliment their chosen cabin colour scheme. A truly spectacular setting with unparalleled views overlooking Lake Windermere in a wonderfully designed & maintained garden, we really miss working on this job – we always sat quietly drinking in the views with our cups of tea!

Once completed the cabin decor was over to Chris to adorn with her own fantastic items which really make this cabin their own whilst making excellent use of the extension space & a truly homely feel inside.

A couple of years down the road we found that the Daily Mail wanted to do a feature on Barbecue Cabins – and we knew just who they could speak to! Cliff & Chris were only too happy to show them around the cabin & Garden, and to our delight they used our cabin in the feature which you can find here:

All in all this cabin is a joy to be both inside & out of, with a one of a kind setting we will always remember very fondly. Thank you both Cliff & Chris, it was a pleasure to meet you & we wish you all the best – the luckiest Cabin Keepers we know!
