Thermowood – A naturally durable material
Swallow timber greenhouses are constructed from Thermowood. The wood is simply exposed to very high temperatures in the absence of oxygen which transforms the chemical structure of the wood, which increases its durability and rot resistance as well as pest & fungus resistance. The timber can be left in its natural state, oiled or painted in a range of colours to further increase its lifespan & enhance its appearance.

Swallow Garden Buildings offer a great range of not only greenhouses, but also potting sheds & combination sheds. The Jay potting shed and its bigger brother the Rook are both an amazingly versatile potting shed, and make a great storage as well as workspace, or even just a great place to sit & watch the world go by.

The Combination Shed is a brilliant addition to the greenhouses – combining storage with your greenhouse allowing you to house all your accessories tools & more within arms reach of where you need them most.
Timber Greenhouse Features & Accessories
Your Swallow Greenhouse will have various features depending on the type & size such as roof vents, and there are several optional extras & accessories to go with your building. For instance the combination sheds can have the option of a fitted wooden floor in the shed partition, rainwater & guttering systems are available in black or white, standard aluminium door handle can be upgraded to ornate black handle and extra staging & shelving is available for all buildings.
Pre Painted
You can have your building pre painted in several colours as standard; Lily White, Lulworth Blue, Vert De Terre, Bracken, Olive, Railings, Anthracite, Moles breath, Purbeck stone, Oxford Stone along with a Oiled finish or just natural Thermowood.. The factory painted option also offers even greater protection for your timber greenhouse.
The paint used is an opaque water borne acrylic protective top coat, which has a flexible microporous protective film. It is resistant to bacterial mould and UV attack.
